Air Con Recirculation lockout.

Now... I know everyone has this problem.... When you hit the AirCon Recirculate... You get a blinking light telling you "Buzz off, I do what I want" in a Eric cartman on Maury voice....

I bought the car... If I want Recirculate.... I better get it.

The main reason... When I get in traffic, there is a lot of stinky cars and trucks, and I want to recirculate.

Is there a sequence of buttons that I can log into a master mode to enable this feature?

If you have it in "Auto" mode, there are conditions that prevent it from working. Humidity, temperature, whether or not the compressor is running, etc.

If you want to force the recirculate mode, turn off the Auto and hit the AC button.

Even if I hit AC, I still cannot enable Recirculate until it's ready to do so.

I'm looking for a mod... Any other car I can put recirculate any time. This is honestly distracting.

My 2012 had a defective sun sensor/multiswitch. Repacling this multiswitch helped greatly, and I am no longer fried (or frozen) alive by leaving the car set to my desired temperature. It also allowed me to hit the recirculate button and have it work. (Before the multiswitch replacement, it would go into recirculate when it felt like it, and then would go back off again after a few minutes.) Now, I can generally put it in recirculate mode, even in Auto, without explicitly turning on the A/C. On manual, it also generally works in dash vent mode, and combo dash and floor vent mode. It does not allow me to turn it on in any other mode.

This is the most annoying problem I have with my car. If I knew it before buying the car it could have been a deal breaker. I noticed the AC recirculation never works when the external temperature is bellow 10C.

Nobody has any answer for this? It worked before, now it doesn't. I know it doesn't work in some settings in my 2013 Challenger, but it doesn't work on ANY settings in my 300, now. It worked for the first month, now it doesn't. I can't believe they put in a button that doesn't do anything...dealer call, first thing monday morning....

I have already spoken to my car dealer and the answer was that this is how the AC recirculation button is designed to work. It is not unusual for software bugs like this to be declared “features” as an easy excuse. Car manufactures never fix bugs that are not life threatening or could cause other expensive warranty claims. The only hope is it might be fixed in the next model release.
Seeing how the front lights moisture condensation problem has been around for several years and still exists in the latest release of Jeep GC, this AC bug may still be in the 2015 300C release.

Thanks for the help guys..I jumped on here because I searched out 300m recirculation problems, and the interwebs led me here. This car only has 1200 miles on it, I have no reason to believe my dealer won't be able to take care of it...however, it is strange to see that such a simple, basic function seems so sketchy in quality.
