Anyone hearing a random beep or tone? and pic of new tint job...

I'm still trying to figure it out... but sometimes I'm driving along and minding my own business and I hear a random system tone or come out of the speakers... Its not related to park assist or blind spot assistance, and it has no associated error light or display change. I thought maybe it was a favorites on my sat radio, but it happens when playing ipod/sd/cd also... its becomming more frequent and I can't for the life of me figure it out...

any ideas?


also, the attached picture is the new tint job... 15% ceramic tint all the way around.

I'm always hearing tones related to the blind spot/collision avoidance and wondering what they are, but I'm usually able to figure out that's why the car is beeping. For instance, on a curvy back road there was a road sign right in the middle of a turn. The car thought I was going to hit it and beeped, even though I was curving in front of it.

Beautiful car by the way! We have the tinted windows also (although we didn't have much say, as the dealer had already done it). Someday I may surprise my wife with those awesome black Mopar 18" rims...

If it is just one beep, it is very likely your Favorites that you set on your Sirius. It comes on as long as the radio is on, regardless of what mode you're in. You should notice a flag icon and something like "Favorite Playing" just beside the driver's side temperature set indicator on the top left of the screen. Clicking on that brings up an information screen to tell you what's playing and an option to switch to it.

The safety warning beeps have distinct patterns. long-short/long-short for cross path, short-long/short-long for blind spot and rapid short-short-short for FCW.

its not the same tone as favorites... plus i tested it today, it happens with the radio completely powered off.. I also turned off the forward collision warning and the park asssist, still beeps!

Somebody dropped a phone in your car or the FBI put one of the GPS trackers under the car?

I don't hear any random beeps other than favorites and the SafetyTec stuff so I'm grasping and some ideas here...

Do you have a phone paired with the car? This UConnect does allow notification tones from the connected phone to pass to the system, i.e. if your phone rings, the ring tone comes through the speakers. Could it be a tone coming from your phone?

I assume there is no "i" indicator on your dash for a message and isn't the passenger seatbelt warning?

The car is very quite, could it be something else making the sound other than the car or perhaps a squeak from a body panel that sounds like a beep?

Just tossing out some ideas, a random beep would drive me nuts.

Nice tint! How do you like the ceramic? Looking to do the same to mine (30%) here soon. I like the eyebrow on it as well - looks good and it's a good size.

I get the random beeps and haven't figured out why yet. Have only had the car a week or so and just turned 600 miles.

Here's a new thought about this beep that is being heard. When you hear it, is the front passenger seat unoccupied and you have something, say a bag or briefcase on the seat?

Very nice! If I ever get out of my 07 C I'm thinking AWD will be the way to go, especially where I live. But no sense in getting rid of a car that paid off right now.

It is the alert for the favorites. It chimes when your favorite sports teams are playing, songs or artists. It alerts you even when your Sat is off, to let you know that your favorites are on. It will chime through the U-connect also. Change your alert setting to "visual Only" instead of "audible and visual" or you can delete the favorites and the chime will stop. The more favorites you have the more alerts you will get.
