USB Input Issues

I just loaded up a Kingston 16GB USB flash drive with my music to see if the inability to play gapless extends to all media source and Uconnect tells me it can't read it.

Anyone else have any luck getting it to recognize music on a FAT32-formatted USB flash drive?

Mine worked with my HTC last month, I upgraded to a Galaxy S3 and now its not working! Although, I did HAVE to install the KIES Air program on my PC to load the drivers needed to get it to recognize my Galaxy S3! I'd better not need special drivers to get it to work with my 300.

How do you disconnect the USB drive from the car? Is there a walkthrough anywhere?

Ok picked up my car monday new. USB? didn't knoiw it had one where is it,, didn't see that in the manual.

Also from day 1 which was only 6 days ago my IPOD / radio also skips. I thought it might be interferrance from external sources.

If your car is so equipped, the USB will be in the console. Mine seems to work well and I am surprised at the significant difference between using the USB and Bluetooth streaming. The Bluetooth is convenient but the sound quality is so much better with the USB.

After about 3 days of digging as to why I can't connect my Samsung Galaxy S3 via USB to my 300, I found a root cause for my issue. Samsung (and other manufacturers) changed their USB protocols from "Mass Media Storage" to "MTP/PTP" (Media Transfer Protocol), which, of course, is not compatible with the 2012 8.4N or many other devices, including PC's. However, I couldn't find a fix for my 300. It would probably require loading the drivers manually on to the head unit which, if even possible, probably wouldn't even accept them.

Yet another example of Big Businesses screwing their customers for the sake of exclusivity and monopolizing their corner of the market. So screw you, Samsung! I returned my Galaxy S3 and am sticking with my HTC. I don't care if it's last year's model. At least it works!!!

I have a galaxy nexus and it doesn't work just like yours, I was a bit upset about this but once I figured out its super easy to load everything on an SD card I called it a day. Enough in life to worry about then this issue. lol

It would be nice if they fixed it but honest I really like the SD card idea cause it stays in the car all the time.
