USB Input Issues

Today I noticed that my head unit was no longer recognizing my iPod Nano so I swapped it out with a usb drive and neither work. Anybody else have any issues with their USB port?

At times I do have this issue both with 300 and Edge. Also on 300 it doesn't show the album art work. Edge it does.

I can play my Android only through bluetooth and it displays no info. Usb will charge but remains greyed out as player choice. Disappointing.

Mine won't even play. When you go to audio options it only displays bluetoogh and disk, doesn't even recognize usb, SD Date, Aux? Occasionally it ask to touch play on screen to unpause, and when I do absolutely nothing happens.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer satisfaction enhancements are included with this software release:

NOTE: After the HFM has been updated it will receive these enhancements.

· Reduced “Device Reading” wait time after connecting a device to the remote USB port.
· Call / Dial separation improves upon names being recognized as phone numbers.
· Improved sound quality during Bluetooth streaming.
· Increased iPod and iPhone compatibility.
· SMS messaging support via MAP protocol (not all phones support the MAP protocol).
· Added “None of These” and “Correction” to the phone book prompt menu for better handling of similar names.
· Previous button will return the song currently being played to the beginning of the track.
· AirPlay feature “Dock Connector” no longer needs to be manually selected on Apple devices. This will resolve the “No Audio” condition when the device is connected to the remote USB port and dock connector is not selected.

NOTE: USB mode resume will no longer 'resume' after ignition OFF

This TSB are not for the 8.4 or 8.4n from the 2011 300!

USB worked this morning which was a relief. The problem is that I don't know when the next time this problem will rear it's ugly head. It seemed to have corrected itself after the car sat overnight. If it happens again I will try Sox suggestion if that fails I will take it in to the dealership. I'm still in for any insight to this issue.

Once in a while youhave to unplug the USB from car and replug and it works, same case with me on any device I use and in any car.

Folks, you are not alone. Recently took delivery of a 2012, 300, SRT-8, on 2/14/12. About a week ago, I lost my USB port that I was using with an old iPod (ver 1.3). Took it into the dealership that I bought the car from to address the failure of the iPod integration. While the vehicle was there, additional systems (adaptive cruise control(ACC) and the forward collision warning (FCW)) were knocked out by the clowns trying to address the USB port issue...

So it appears that not only can these dealers not deal with the USB problem effectively, they take out other systems in the process... Folks consider yourselves lucky...
