Great write-up!
FWIW after a much lower key experiment of my own ( fascia on, turned hands to hamburger), I went with the Silverstars for fogs, but I also added the Lamin-X blue protective film over the fog lenses. Brought the color range much closer to the HID's while keeping the brightness. And it looks cool (to me anyway) during the day on the silver car.
