Installing a Dash Kit (continued)

The kit comes with tubes of 3M adhesive promoter. This is applied to rough surfaces prior to applying the veneer. It must dry for 5 minutes.

A hair dryer is used to warm up each piece prior to application.

Line up the piece to be installed before removing the red protective film from the back. Ensure the fit is perfect. Start application from an end point. Do not allow the other end to touch down.

Carefully set down each edge working in one direction only. Thin pieces can be postioned easily if they are warm.

Have a soft cotton cloth handy to smooth down the applied piece.

Voila! Your first piece is installed.

Just keep repeating the process until you are done. Total time for the two of us was 2.2 hours each.
