The LX wont get it til next year.

Thats pretty correct information! CAN = Controller Area Network Designed to run at a substantially faster rate than OBDII. It can process more information and at a faster speed. It will soon be required by all car manufacturers. Mercedes has been using the CAN system for quite a while now and its working great and makes things easier to diagnose. The 2008 LX platform will most likely run 2 CAN systems, CAN B (interior CAN data bus) and CAN C (engine and chassis CAN data bus). I just recently graduated from a Mercedes Benz ELITE training center after graduating Universal Technical Institute and the Mercedes cars have so much information you can look through if you have the dealers diagnostic equipment.
