In order to get your subs sounding like you want most likely it won't matter if you tap into the front, doors, or rear speakers. It will still sound awful for bass.
Only way to redeem the bass sound you like is an aftermarket stereo. Or try stock stereo with some sort of equalizer may help.
I have the same problem but want to keep my navigation so I have to deal with the bass not hitting as hard as I would like.
