The new car I purchased has this Magnaflow exhast
MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust - For American Muscle Cars
In this picture it shows the exhaust and also two straight pipes...I am guessing that replace the resonator in the middle of the exhaust. I would like some more sound (the sound is incredible, I'd just like it to be louder) was this exhaust set up to have a quiet or loud version? Can I just weld in some 3" pipes and remove the resonator? How will it effect the sound and performance?
Also, in my quest for added sound and performance I am considering the magnaflow hi-flow cats. First off, how restrictive are the factory cats? Also, the mid pipe on the magnaflow is 3" and bottles down to 2.75". The Magnaflow catback starts at 2.75" then is 3" the rest of the way....is this much of a restriction? Its seems to me Magnaflow should have gone 3" all the way with no bottleneck.
OK, last question I promise.
Do any companies make off road mid pipes (no cats) to use on track days, etc?
