NYC, did you remove the hanger brackets from the car to gain access to the rubber grommets also? The instructions say to remove them as it's probably easier to get the metal out of the rubber grommet. Sounds like I'll attempt the install. I have installed a catback when I had my 2001 Lightning. I remember having a hard time getting the stock pipe to slide off the midpipes. A royal pain. I had to dremel it off because it was so tight. I just want to make sure there are no surprises like that. I remember back then saying next time, I will pay someone to do it!
