Now, poorly done butcher mods will get my attention (most common with stereo hack jobs) but I wont tell anyone their warranty is void. When a car comes in with a problem and I trace it to the mod then I will let the Service Manager know and he makes the call on warranty coverage. Usually just that issue is affected, you will pay for that repair but your warranty will still be intact unless you have done something really crazy. Ive started the paperwork for warranty restriction more for neglect and accident damage, especially submersion damage, I can only remember one for a performance mod. That case was nitrous and he had actually melted the pistons.
Good write up. You are a service person who obviously knows the law and uses common sense. Entire warranties are seldom voided. Repairs that are cause by mods are handled on a case by case basis. Common sense prevails...if you go crazy with nitrous or superchargers don't expect DC to pay for repairs. On the other hand, CAI's and exahusts would be considered safe IMO. Mopar does make an aftermarket CAI and cat back.
