No, the kit made for our car is a direct bolt on of the entire mid pipe and includes hi-flow cats...no welding is required, nor is hacking up the OEM ones.
Hre is a link to the 5.7 mid pipes as a reference (you can see the cats)...very similar to our SRT-8 6.1 pipes
