Angry Hard Drive went in new desktop after 8 months

Hello Gang,

I'm on my laptop for the next few days...On Friday, the hard drive in my new desktop system went after 8 months. I called Gateway tech support and they walked me through all the troubleshooting that they could think of, and came to the conclusion that the hard drive failed on me.

Here's the story, Late last week, the computer started acting up and sending me error messages upon startup and I would go to repair the problem and the problem would keep cropping back up. I went to start the computer up on Friday and the computer just looped between the XP startup screen and the Gateway splash screen. I contacted Gateway again this afternoon, and they are sending me new hard drives. (The system has 2 hard drives inside in a RAID configuration) I should have the replacement drives in a few days...I'll keep everyone posted.
