What to use to clean inside rims?

This weekend was my first wash of the beast and was wondering what everyone uses to clean all the break dust etc in between the stock rims? It's a tight squeeze and I was basically just holding a hose in there while wiping away most of the dirt. Not the best technique but it did the job. Only problem was I could not get my hand all the way through to clean deep inside the rim.

Also - what about the water left on the rims, brakes etc? Should I worry about rust?????
