I casually mentioned that I use a gas blower to dry off my car and the great people on this forum reminded me of the problems with gas blowers. I had always been careful in the past to watch for gas/oil drippings and never had any....as far as I could tell. Why take a chance? After sleeping on that thought for several days, I woke up this morning and decided I'd go buy an electric blower.

I hopped into our SUV, wife in tow, and off to the big orange home improvement warehouse. We marched over to the lawn equipment and I started searching for an electric leaf blower. I had done no prior research except to determine I wanted something with airspeed of 200+ mph, and I wanted to pay less than $60.

This may sound silly, but nothing "jumped out" at me and said "buy me, buy me". I turned to my lovely wife and said, "I just don't see anything I like".

On the way out I remembered that some Wet/Dry vacs have a detachable blower. Someone in a previous thread mentioned it too. I had always wanted a Wet/Dry...so off to that aisle we went.

Low and behold, there, before my eyes, was the RIGID WD1665 Wet/Dry Vac with Detachable Blower. This bad boy is capable of 265mph airspeed. With my budget set at $60, all I had to do was upsell the wife $40 more to buy the unit. As I prepared to speak, the wife yells out, "You need to buy that Wet/Dry vac, it's got a blower too". Keeping my cool, I say, "Well, if you think so" as I'm picking up the box and placing it in our cart.

Life is good! Thank you fellow 3CF members for the honest input you provide.
I have two of them, a big old rigid and a craftsman. Gotta love the wet/dry vac. Those things are great, and powerful, mine could suck the chrome off a bumper hitch!
