The 15W-50
WAS the oil most Porsche guys were using. The original version
was an SL rated oil. In the last 6 months
they changed it to SM and it lost half the ingredients designed to reduce/avoid wear.
Hence, the reason to look for something else. The 5W40 is actually closest to what used to be available.
