because of the heat is why i put them in the area of the high beam. I never use the high beam so the heat isn't going to be a problem. These are not a replacement for the headlights in any way, just accent lighting. it was an easy install. just drilled the specefied hole size in the top of the headlight caseing and wired it up. I am thinking of putting 1 blue in each tail light to give a purple affect.
