Painting the Headlight Bezel 300C Pictures
Ok I started out this project like some will thinking about the Halos. I am not a fan of the company, and their product seems to have some issues, I have read that many times over on the forum. BUT, I love the look of the painted headlight bezel. I thougnt about possibly color matching them to the silver, but recently I decided to paint the roof a DARK TACTITE Grey Metallic, so I decided to have the painter shoot the bezels the same dark gray. I am trying my best to set my Silver SRT apart from the rest!
I will say this, any of you that have successfully removed the headlights, and taken them apart by baking them from a 300C, CONGRATULATIONS. You are unbelievable... Anyway I could not even a little bit get the glue to soften up. I tried up to 250 degrees for 25 minutes. I mean literally the plastic was softer than the glue was!!! I finally got so pissed that I used a dremel and cut all the way around the light to get to the inside. And yah, getting the bezel out is no easy task either.
SO, Here are the pics of the painted bezels. I will send some more pics tonight when I get the assembly back together. I feel they will go back together easier LOL. I will use some plastic weld epoxy to get them back together without leaks... I guess no angel eyes, or halos for me...
I also threw in a pic of the roof. Its not color sanded or buffed yet. Oh, and the finish on the roof is a normal clearcoat where as the clear on the bezel is a matte finish!
