Volts, watts, and fog lamps
|
So I picked up a cheap pair of low and high beam headlights, mostly white, slight blue, 6000k. Love 'em. Thought I would get fog lights while I was at it. Bought some silverstars from autozone and installed them, and even though they were "8000k", they turned out amber. Pretty much the same as my stock. So I got another cheap set off ebay, thinking it worked out pretty good with the headlights, but even those fogs were amber, though slightly whiter than the stock. I have a 300 Touring, is there maybe a wattage thing or something I need to consider? I mean, the second set I bought, the bulb itself was blue, but no hint of blue and hardly white. Argh! It's really not a big deal, I don't care too much and I'll just slap the silverstars back in because they seem to be reputable - that way when I need the lights for actual use in fog I should hopefully be able to depend on them. It's just a little frustrating, you know?
Also, what does the "k" stand for when we are talking color?
