Some folks have been wondering if the Silverstar Ultra is worth the extra money - I guess they didn't want to weed through this thread.

The answer, in a nutshell, is no - the Silverstar Ultra's are generally priced $10-$20 more than comparable lights, including the GE Nighthawk. Not only did the Nighthawk
look brighter to me, but the light meter proved it:

no diss to the Silverstar Ultra or those that bought 'em. It is a very good light bulb and certainly brighter than stock (in the case of the fogs, almost double). They just aren't as bright as the GE Nighthawks and cost more to boot. Just trying to save you guys (and gals) a few bucks and get you the best light available for the price...
