this is obviously the bad thing about doing the chip. Jetchip has printed out the full disclaimer about how adding on aftermarket parts can only void your warranty if the service department can prove that the addition of the part caused the problem or failure. Trust me on this one.......if you show up at the dealership with the chip installed----and a problem of course----the service deparment WILL blame the problem or failure on whatever is not a stock(OEM) part. Best advice I can give anyone interested in adding aftermarket performance parts................get to know and become freinds with your service manager
Yeah, I agree with this one. All the dealer has to do is blame the mod and then it would be up to you to try to to disprove the theory. All they have to have to do is say "no" to any repair. They would not be obligated to fix anything unless you dragged them through court and won. On the other hand, there are service depts that just don't give a shizzle and will work on a modded car. I think that they look at it as a "no skin of my nose" type of situation. They bill for the "warranty" work without documenting any mods and nobody at Chrysler is the wiser. This would probably worked best with little problems though. Requisitions for burnt pistons or a split crankshaft would probably get the attention of some regional manager/ supervisor.
