Thanks for the tip, MTC.
I've just checked my tyres (cold) at 31psi (2.2bar on EVIC). I was assuming that the EVIC would warn me if pressures were too low, but obviously its not as sensitive as I imagined. Having read the manual again on this topic, it is clear that the EVIC will only warn of "significant" under-inflation, which presumably is not 31psi. So tomorrow its an exercise session with the footpump. Maybe my mpg will increase and my waistline decrease! I've just returned 37mpg over a 500 mile round trip to the Northwest, which isn't bad, but still short of your 40 mpg.
