Well the reason is simple. I want to hook up a device that only turns on when the engine's on so I don't drain the battery.

Now you might ask, then why don't I just use the power outlet in the ash tray?
Well, the reason is, I don't want to have the ash tray open all the time.

The center console even has a little niche on the right side so you can run a wire into it, so I was planning to use this one.
