While the tranny is the same design in the 6.1 (the Mecedes WA580 5 speed), it has some reinforcements in the 6.1. AMG have used this units in some of their monsters, as well.
It will be intersting to find where its outer limit is.

That is with the 6.1. I am interested about the differences between the two trannies you speak of. We are running a 5.7 hemi transmission behind our 426 in an srt8, what are the differences? We havent had any issues with it to date.
