Why don't the manufactures split the difference? Because when the wheel comes off, some jack-a** sues and now owns their wheel company.

5x115 is the only correct bolt circle. 5x4.50 would not fit if the lugs holes were drilled tighter.

Insane example. Nothing to do with engine building. Moot point. I doubt you know anyone whose wheel come off using 114.3 and not 115?

I can put a 245/55/18 width tire on the OEM rims versus a 225/60/18. That is a 20mm difference. Can you apply your "Let's build your engine with the tolerances that you recommend" theory there?
