Just when I thought all dealers were crap...

The fam and I just got back from visiting the relo's down in Adelaide for Christmas and of course the day before we were to head back to Canberra the mandatory "End of Holiday Dash Warning Light" came on. Anyway I took a look in the manual and it said it was the engine malfunction indicator which respresents everything from dodgy fuel to total melt down. As it wasn't flashing (melt down mode) I wasn't too concerned but figured I better get it looked at before heading home (as it would probably start flashing in the middle of the Hay plain!)

So I took it to one of the local Chrysler dealers, Adrian Brien Motors. Anyway,I take it to service department and get the familiar "Sorry mate we're booked up until the middle of January 2011 ....." To which I reply "Thta's no good, I'm heading back to Canberra tomorrow" at which point Dave the Trusty Service Manager walks past and says " I'll take it into the workshop and get one of the boys to strap it to the computer and see if we can find the problem, The likelihood is it probably just needs to be reset". To which I reply, "That would be great!"

So the 300C disappears into a very busy workshop. 15 minutes later Dave the TSM walks back in and says "There's a flash upgrade required for your car, that's what's causing the error. It'll take about 20 minutes". So Nicholas (my 19 month old son) and I went into the dealership and quizzed the sales guy about 300C accessories etc. So, 30 minutes later Nicky and I
headed back top the service department, but on the way we were greeted "Guy the Mechanic" (not his real name) who said "Your car's ready sir, however if you've got another 10 minutes we'll give it a quick wash". To which I reply "Sure! That'd be great!"

15 minutes later Nicky's strapped into his seat and we're away. New software and a sparkling clean car! I even liked the sales guy I spoke too!

Great job Adrian Brien Motors!.... If only Rolfe Motors were as accommodating........
