I'd agree that if it isn't hot it won't cause a problem - but I haven't tested it yet. The problem is it's not good practice to have a spare large amp fuse in a fuse box with less rated fuses. You wouldn't keep an old glass 40 amp fuse in your fuse panel if the highest rating needed was 20 amp would you? The more I check their wiring diagrams the more errors I'm finding - this should be a great concern to all of us.
