IF you want the tire to have some serious bite, go below your current size. If you have 225's for summer, I would take 195's or 205's.
My Lex had 265's summer and 185's winter. These tires are not for show, they are serious winter tires. Look at the rallye cars, 400-500HP with 185's... Narrow is MUCH better in snow and ice.
If you are conserned about the good looks, get regular 225's, but you'll get stuck in the snow eventually.
Blizzaks are OK, the only problem they have is the decent grip (not even comparable to Nokian) in the beginning of the tire's life vs. the quick fading of grip after 3-5K miles.
