Nitrogen is often used by racers as the tire pressures do not change much as the tire heats up. It has the benefit of not leaking out as quickly as the molecules are larger. Finally, it does not retain water as easily, causing less corrosion on the inside of the rim.

As for daily driving, these benefits are tiny and most people will top up their tires with plain old air (which is already 80% nitrogen). Basically, it is just another way for dealerships to add proifit to service.
