I owned a 2001 Mercedes E320 CDi Estate doing 25,000 miles per year, it was nearing 90K miles and was starting to cost money in repairs.

I saw a picture of a Touring and read all about it - merc engine and running gear and fantastic US body. I saw a Dodge Magnum drive past me in central London and thought "Wow, I want one of those"

I went to the US on business and rented a 300c saloon (V6) and loved it. Came back to the UK, spoke to my local dealer about availability, placed an order in Feb 06 and had delivery in May 06.

Its the first new car I have ever bought (I've had loads of new "company cars") but this was my money.

Now with 44K on the clock, I still get a kick every time I get in it.

Also my kids (12 and 9) love it and they know they have the coolest Dad at school!

Will I buy another one? You bet. It is the best car around for looks, comfort and costs

I just hope they keep producing the Touring as I need an estate car
