Ya know, I was just going to post that. They say the battery life is 5 years, but they've been known to go sooner.
Also might want to try the other key. Just for the record, the solder connection is known to fail without dropping it. Apparently it's a poor design or something. There's a member who's offering to repair these things, but I don't recall his name.
These are just starting points you can try, but it may eventually require a visit to the dealer.
