I got a sweet deal on my Chrysler extended warranty when I bought my SRT8. It helps the dealer with their profits too. I feel that a 3 yr/36000 mile warranty is not enough since I typically keep my cars for 5 years/60000 miles, so I upgraded. The warranty covers everything except stuff like brake pads, seats, and other stuff like that. It is essentially an extended bumper-to-bumper warranty, and with a car like an SRT8, repairs can be costly, so for me it was worth it. The big disadvantage to doing what I did and paying up front for it is that the dealer has that money for a long time before you will collect on it. I'm not sure about this, but I also have full roadside assistance for 5 years/60000 miles, and without a spare, that may pay off some day. I also get a loaner car everytime I bring my car in for service, but I may not have needed to buy the extended warranty to get this (I don't know).
