Powdercoating has its ups and downs.

Negatives:
1.) color options/ color matching is going to be difficult

2.) repair of chips and scratches is very difficult

3.) surface finish may have some "orange peel" effect to it depending on thickness.

Positives:

1.) rugged as hell / stands up to abuse

2.) fast turn around

Paint positives

1.) easier to color match

2.) can be easily repaired

3.) easy to strip and change in the future

4.) can have a very flat finish

5.) color options are greater

Paint negatives:

1.) more time needed for prep

2.) price may be more (or less) depending on who does it
