I have a club that I use on older cars, I don't even bother to lock it, is purely a visual deterrant to encourage some non professional teenager to move to the next car.

If the insurance discount is decent, simple arithmetic, get one. With the new chip cars, the starter won't work without the proper key, in essence I agree with Kc, save your money if the discount is meager.
