May I add - it doesn't even need to be a VAT registered garage (although most dealers will tell you so) as a garages VAT status is no legal indication of quality or ability. As long as it is carried out by a competent person using o.e.m. quality parts (I use genuine and keep the receipts, no issues that way) then all legally will be on your side.
