I have spoken to he local dealer today and he confirmed that the valves used on a 300c are quite thin and brittle aluminum and can very easily be broken off by someone with a pair of pliers.
It makes the valve very vulnerable to damage and car washes and jet washers are usually to blame - though he also said that they, like most other dealers will wash your car when it comes in for a service this way even if you dont!
Its going to cost £30 for a new valve and it wont be done under warranty :-( though he photographed and sent of the pics to Chrysler for them to agree a new set of wheels.
Amazing that a great big expensive car like the 300c has such an obvious vulnerability.
