Top Trumps - Chrysler 300C CRD vs New Citroen C5 2.7 HDi Auto

Okay, I was just reading Jeremy Clarkson's review of the new Citroen C5 2.7 HDi Auto in today's Sunday Times, and I thought the specs must be wrong.

Citroen C5 2.7 HDi (6 speed Auto)

208 bhp
325 lb ft torque
0-60 mph 9.6s
Max Speed 139 mph
Fuel 33.6 mpg (UK) combined
CO2 223 g/km
Kerb Weight 1766 KG

Chrysler 300C CRD (5 Speed Auto)

215 bhp
376 lb ft torque
0-60 mph 7.6s
Max speed 143 mph
Fuel 34.9 mpg (UK) combined
CO2 215 g/km
Kerb Weight 1910 kg

Just shows how good an engine we have in our CRDs, they are a significantly heavier car, only have a 5 speed box, but are more economical, less CO2, much faster to 60, and higher max speed.

I do like the look of the new C5, it is quite chunky, but looks nothing compared to the 300C. I thought that the paper had quoted the wrong figures, but on checking the Citroen website they are correct.

Incidentally the OTR price for the C5 £24,395, the only redeeming feature will be the likely discounts their dealers will offer to sell them.
