Just because you give so much in taxes doesn't mean you're not making it for someone
Let me disclaim, I have 3 friends who currently or have sold cars. They were enthusiasts and even studied the ins and outs of the cheap cars like cavaliers and such. They knew their stuff so not ALL salesmen are like this.
I don't know if you are in that category or not, but even THEY thought it was amusing just how little their coworkers knew.
My point was that you can actually get away with it. I've had 2 sales jobs before and yes, you can BS your way into some sales but you NEED to know the product....In my experience.
When I bought my truck the salesmen said it had a donut tire.....You can see the full size spare hanging underneath the bumper. Is this a small detail? Yes, but still, come on. It's not hard to study 5-10 different product's specs per year to make a more informed purchase for your customers.
