Look at it this way, when I did my system none of these adapters was
available, so I had no choice. I used a $12 LOC in my system. I still
have it in there. However, I did a total amp bypass which required quite
a bit of cutting/splicing. I would have bought such a unit if I were
starting out.

So ask yourself, how much is your time worth? that PAC unit installs
in about 30 secs + plus the 2 minutes it takes to get the radio out,
you could have that part solved. Remember they did all of the research
so that their unit works with your cars CAN-BUS system, so that
you don't have to. Frankly, I don't think the price of that research is bad and if I were starting out, I would go that direction first. Like I said,
it gives you 2 pre-outs AND remote turn on that actually works with
your radio.

So even cost-wise, I still say it's a viable option that I wish was
available when I did my system.

And if you shop around, it shouldn't cost $100. In fact it looks as if he got it for much less.
