The SRT8 has relatively large brakes right from the factory. Thermal capacity (resistance to fade) is not an issue for even the most aggressive street driving. (I'm talking about stuff that won't get you arrested!) Normally a big brake kit will not improve single-stop stopping distances. The benefit is primarily adding thermal capacity and this benefit is mostly seen on the track. In the case of the Chrysler BBK, however, StopTech discovered during testing and final design of their 4-wheel kit that they could improve 60mph to zero stopping distance by about 10 feet, using the same car, same track on the same day, same test equipment, and same tires. (Most magazine tests touting improved braking from a BBK use a car with sticky tires and then compare that result with the factory published specs that use stock tires. Not fair.)
The bottom line is that you can fix the squealing, dusting, and rotor scoring problems of the SRT8 for about $170 in pads. Or you can buy a $5,800 StopTech big brake kit and get the above benefits plus some improvement in stopping distance and a better, firmer pedal feel. I have the StopTech 4-wheel BBK on my own SRT8 and I love it. But for most SRT8 owners, it's way overkill, especially if the problem you are trying to solve is dust and noise.
