Two Lane Blacktop is a little know movie from the early '70s. It appears in the top 10 for best car movies in lots of lists. Maybe you need to be an old hot rodder to really appreciate it
The original Vanishing Point is one of my favourites also.
Personally I am not impressed with quite a few in the above list and don't reckon they deserve to be there.
