seat, pedals, steering wheel move on exit...how to setup?

OK, so I just picked up my 300c (05). When i test drove it, upon turning the car to accessory, the seat, steering wheel and pedals all moved into their memorized positions. When you shut the car off, it all moved away and made it golden for getting out.

Since then they did a number of updates and fixed a few things that i suspect reset some computers. I managed to get my settings set memory wise, but can't figure out the auto-away or whatever it's called. I've read the manual (about 30 times) and it couldn't possibly be more confusing for this point.

From my understanding, I just hold the "S" for the memory settings and then move the seat backwards....then let go of them both, but this didn't work when I tried it. Am I missing something, or do you have to move the seat all the way back while holding the buttons??

Any help would be appreciated!!
