KW Variant 2 rear access panel

I remember seeing meister's old thread about cutting the rear carpet to access the top of the shocks to adjust the dampening in the rear, but the pictures are now gone. Has anyone done this that can show me a picture of where/how big to cut?

Also, what is everyone running dampening wise? I'm in la --->crap roads, and 1 front, 2 rear is not cool...way too bumpy. I did 2, 2 and it is still crap, so I am hoping that maybe I need to loosen the rear?

Last ?, I have the dreaded passenger side rear clunk when going over bumps. Some say it may be a torquing issue, but they were tightened equally to the left rear that does not make noise. Any thoughts? I know about the bushing and am hoping I don't have to drop the rear end for a picture, and then again to install.

Thanks for the help folks.
