Well we can go back and forth about this I'm sure and I will fire up the vette guys again...

I'm hoping for 500 at the rear
The nice thing about having an effective comp ratio that is too high for commonly available gas is that it has nothing to do with the size of the motor or how it is built. Pinging will take its affect on all motors, but production built motors with weaker pistons will take the abuse to destruction much faster. You qoute off 14:1 like it is easy to deal with....Not really. You want to fire up the Vette guys, they will laugh at you as they have the ability to fully tune their PCMs for this type of mods(read, they can deliver as much fuel to the engine as they can plumb for and keep the motor rich for safety). Unless you can show me the software that allows this, you cannot do this on your Dodge/Chrysler Hemi. I am sure you will have some nice numbers for a few days/weeks/months, but it boils down to one thing: The question isn't when will it let go, but how long until it lets go.

I have supercharged a 96 Z-28 with the LT-1 motor. I purposely ran it much closer to the lean point for max power, but the point is that we had programming available to tune it like this or change it. Yes, it did finally blow through several rings lands, but it was fun while it lasted. I look forward to that post so we know how long.
