Appropriate Tire sizing for 20's on AWD

I would like to get some opinions/experience in putting 20's on an AWD. There are a bunch of choices in tire sizes. I have seen 245 to 275 and 35 to 65 on sidewall. What is maximum and what is optimal? Any thoughts?

Thanks,

DP
