From the photos, looks more like brake material building on to the iron rotors in ridges.
The rotors are harder than the pad material. The pad material appears to be a racing type, designed for hi temp operation. Normal driving is probably causing great amounts of brake dust and ridging. Just my 2 cents, but unacceptable, either way.
Hopefully, DCX will have a better pad compound soon.
