Adaptive Cruise Control and Grilles

Does anyone know of issues with Adaptive Cruise Control and replacement grilles? Chrysler makes a couple grilles, and one states "compatible with adaptive cruise control", the other does not. This leads me to believe many aftermarket ones may not be compatible. What might the issues be?

Anyone?

So theyíre saying the grille will interfere with Adaptive Cruise control? This is the first Iíve heard of this. Sorry Iím at a loss on this one. Look forward to learning more about this. Here is link to an article that does mention the grille as the place to fit the unit.

I was thinking the sensor needs a spot to shine through the grille, and the replacement grilles might have something in the way. Does anyone on this forum have ACC yet? Would love to see a pic of the sensor.

That particular item isnít available yet. I believe ResumeSpeed posted that it wonít be available until later in 2007.

I can vouch that at least the EG Roll's Grill will not work with the ACC. I put one on and it killed th ACC. I'n not sure if it's the bars that line up in front of the radar sensor or the fact that it is a steel grill. I'm going to try and move the radar dome slightly to see if that makes any difference but my guess is being steel is the problem. I may have to sell the grill and go back to a plastic one.

Does the cruise control work at all? or is only the ADAPTIVE feature not working? i heard that NO cruise control would work at all....but then again i have heard that you can still use cruise without the adaptive feature. whats your experience been? I was considering buying a Grip Grille, and have been hesitant.

No, it does not work at all. It will say ACC Blinded. It does not revert back to standard cruise control, you either have the ACC or nothing.
