yeah... i think some of the dealers here in WA are taking advantage of the fact that there will be an acute shortage of these cars in the next 4-5 months. i quickly put a deposit on mine a few weeks ago as soon as they came out here and i was aware of it and i reckon i got a reasonable price... though not the cheapest. see my post above. one of the dealers here want 84k drive away for all 3 option packs... leather, sunroof and black chrome... WHAT A RIP!!! they are preying on those desperate to get an srt8 now rather than wait. i did speak to the state manager here in WA and he indicated there was going to be a shortage of cars coming here for the short term at least.

another dealer was giving me a price 1.8k lower but couldnt deliver the car till nov/dec.. dealbreaker!!!!

they are delaying delivering my car allegedly because of a door latch problem affecting some of the 300s... allegedly waiting on a part from chrysler which is taking a friggin long time ... i reckon they are hanging on to it as long as possible so that more people can view the car. they tell me no one is driving it... i know the last odo meter reading and it better not be much more than that!!!!!

Start with a 66k car, put 6k worth of extras and rego on it and charge 84k. Good luck getting me to go along with that.

Price it up at New Cars ? New Car Prices & Specials - Discount New Cars, see what you get, I find it is fairly accurate as to how much you can bargain.

Nope, the cars I test drove had acc, fcw and blis. I have it now on my grand Cherokee overland, and it's been great.

probably would only go black, white or mineral grey

its a little hard to work out what price i actually am paying seeing i had a trade in...

mine has the leather interior group (mucho leather everywhere and nicer mats) and the sunroof. would have liked the black chrome group but that would have meant i would have to order a new car from scratch and wait till possibly next year....

given the tradein was above redbook valuation, i think i got a pretty good deal at 73.5k drive away with 12 months rego!

the only issue with it (which i was happy to live with) was that a few ppl had test driven the car and it had 180-190 km on it before i put 20 kms on it myself....

can't wait...!!! 5 more sleeps!!!
Awesome, post lots of pics. I'm off to the states in a week or so, and I get it the day I come bad to aus, so I'm not too fussed. Can't wait

Unsure on the door latch issue, mine will be at the dealer early September so shouldn't be an issue hopefully.

i have my SRT8 sitting in my garage tonight.

apparently im the first registered owner of an SRT8 in WA. (had trouble licensing it today when i went to pick it up as the DOT database hadnt been updated with the new SRT8 codes or some crapola like that). 3 hours and they finally registered it!!!!

sorry for crappy pic... but it was night by the time i got home and also raining in perth tonight...

Hey dkoong, congrats on the new arrival, was starting to wonder if they had sold any yet as I still haven't seen one on the road, only on the dealership.

Regards the safety group stuff (acc, fcw and blis) from the previous post, I believe it is an option on the middle of the road 300C range and standard on the luxury models. It might not be an option in the limited range.

they haven't got any one the road because the dealers are reluctant to sell them off the floor. as it is they kept my car 3 weeks before letting it go!!!!!! (various reasons... long story)
stock will not be arriving thick and fast for the SRT8s... so they need demo cars on the floor. as it is... the red one at melville CJD has already clocked 1000km!!!! for supposedly a brand new car. hmmmmm i wonder who is going to buy that one for full price! mine had 180 km on it already when i snaffled it. cajoled the dealer into selling it to me. the fact that they are getting 2 cars in the next week or 2 made him happy to sell to me.

the guy in bunbury wouldnt sell me the black one they had as they needed the car as demo and they didnt have any arriving for them till november....

congrats dkoong. Lucky bugger. lol.

Edit: Hows head clearance with the sunroof, how tall are you? (I'd go to a dealer and find out for myself but I don't wanna do that till I'm ready to buy/order as it will just make waiting worse.)

im averagey sort of height... 175cm. but i have shorter legs and longer upper body. haha.. so that means i 'sit tall'

i have not noticed any issues with the head space/room any different to the old SRT8 i had. infact the seat has got adjustments up and down in height as well...

it is sooooooooooooooo much better than the old 300c SRT8. the transmission definitely shifts harder... and the sport mode suspension is definitely bumpy/stiff... lol

Sort of Dugong like?

You lucky bugger. (Did I mention that?). Do we get the heated steering wheel too? Hows the sound system compared to the old SRT?
