Turk182 some guys do have 24's in the states but a lot of work involved. U have to move suspension and mess around with other stuctual stuff. And at $1000 plus a rim and at least $1000 a tyre why would u. Mine is a every day driver and I want 20's for looks and know I will be sacrficing the ride as it is.
Spock1 where did u get ur magna flow and how much was it? Is it cat back or full system?
I am getting 15.5 - 16.5L /100kms city driving. Only done 1700kms so far and car looks great after my free paint job!
Hi there,
Got the Magnaflow from Motoline here in Melbourne for $1980 installed. It's a cat back job (see attached pic). I've seen them on eBay for as little as US$599 but shipping was a bitch, not to mention duty.
There are various kinds of headers available from the U.S as well but I think I'll wait a while. I've already spent enough money. My wife is ready to kill me.
What's this about a free paint job?

yeh i thought as much, cos there was a 300c at the summernats here in canberra last week and the guy there tired to put 24s on it but ran into some problems so he ended up putting 22s on it, well thats what the dealer was telling me
im thinking about these rims, best ones i've found so far, i like the deep dish design ones better
#1 - REXR907, #2 - Zenetti Heir. #3 - D'VinciDV8, #4 - Dolce-12

Yes that was WHEELBOYZ who had 22" TIS 07's.
I am getting tis 07's in 20" however if I had to choose another it may be the Gianelle V5's or Zenetti Flows. I found the site superbuytires.com an excelent research ground.
Now to the paint job......I might even make this one a thread.
The day after I picked up my car I went over it and noticed a large scratch on the back r/h quarter panel, I stood back to see if it really stood out. Thats when i saw that my r/h rear door was a different shade of silver (and left one to I later discovered) and not much metalic (darker). I complained that day and they said they would paint the whole side for me (scratch was thru to the paint). I took it to my friends paint shop for his opinion and before he got to look at the door he said that it was the worst factory paint job he'd seen. He pointed out to me how patchy and transparent it was all over. So he did a paint report for me and I took it to the dealer. They said 3 guys from interstate would look at it in a week. Before the week was out I got a call to say the guys were not coming and head office said "just paint it and let his guy do it". My guy quoted them $6500 and he had it for 3 weeks and it is a great look, I left off the side mouldings and badges and it truely looks "Bright Silver" now! And no orange peel!
Funny thing is that the dealer gave me a new silver V8 Jeep to drive for a couple of weeks and the paint job on it was 10 times worse!!

Aussie 300C, I am pleased to hear you have the paintwork fixed. I reckon it would be the best Bright Silver 300C around now. I was having a long hard look at mine in the garage at the weekend and the "zebra" effect is quite noticable in certain light conditions.
On the larger wheels subject, the members on the forum have been recommending for a long time that if you go larger than 20", then you must upgrade your brake package. Check around the forum for this information but from memory I believe the issue is the added weight of the larger wheel/tyre package.
I know it's each to their own, but personally i reckon the 22in's look way over the top, i dont like the way they look at all. In my opinion 20's sit perfect once you've lowered the car an inch or two, they look much better than either 22's or 18's. I'll be leaving most of my srt8 bone stock.
does the srt8 have that thing that turns off 4 cyl while cruising? sorry.. i don't know the correct term
No the srt8 does not have MDS and coincidentally someone one on this forum site asked a very similar question just 2 hours b4 you did. Type MDS in the search bar.
