I just discovered that HSBC is even cheaper than AAMI and they don't charge extra to pay the premium by month!!

I'm switching!!

Hi John thanks for the welcome.

Yes im from Sydney and it was a real headache trying to get insurance..
This looks like a really helpful forum to help with my passion for this new car and i am glad to be a part of it.

Those of you who are looking for an insuarnce company should also watch out as some companies have really bad payout rates such as just cars with like an average around the 37% mark. Just thought i'd add that to spread some awareness.

Daniel

I went with QBE as well. My Fiance is under 25 so it makes it harder to get insurance with her as a second driver. QBE were great - about $1100 for the year, agreed value, $600 excess and pay by the month. I reckon that's pretty good. They were really helpful over the phone as well. Hope that helps !

Cheers,

Shane

Oh ya..! QBE will only cover wheel size 1" over stock

They don't insure 20" on 300c etc.. not much fun but they have given me 21 days cover.

Woops - forgot that little oversight about the wheels. Yeh they only will insure up to one inch over standard. Kinda makes it hard if you want some big wheels. I will stay with them until i put my 22's on next year then I guess I'm gonna have to look elsewhere. Until then, I'm happy to stay with them.

Just an update on my insurance. As stated in the previous posts, I am with Western QBE. I rang them just to be sure they will cover me when I do my Magnaflow exhaust mod and guess what - NO THEY WON'T! Any exhaust mod whatsoever they will not cover. That means I've had to source a new insurance company. I finally decided to go with AAMI. They were happy to cover pretty much any mod as long as it's legal and roadworthy. $1100 for the year (33 yo, rating one).

This is all good EXCEPT - my fiance is only 23 years old and they will not insure anyone under 25 yo. This means she can't drive my car for another 18 months! She's not happy. Woops. No lovin for me .
